“They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks…Neither shall they learn war anymore.”
–Holy Bible, Isaiah 2:4

Restoring veterans’ dignity by providing productive employment

TBF Logo-rev-2Our mission is to provide training and meaningful employment to fellow veterans on our three working farms in the Atrisco area of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Of an estimated 60,000 unemployed New Mexicans, 7,500 are veterans. For returning combat veterans, Desert Forge goes beyond teaching the fundamentals of growing food and developing a business. It offers them the opportunity to find physical and emotional healing once again.

What Is the Desert Forge Foundation?

Leading the way in benefiting the community

For the community at large, the Warrior Farmer Project casts an even longer shadow, providing…

  • Veteran empowerment, food localization, economic development and agricultural revitalization
  • Training & employment program in traditional farming and hydroponic greenhouse food production
  • Modernization of New Mexico green chile production using state of the art growing methods
  • Creation of Veteran’s National Training Center located in Albuquerque, NM focusing on agriculture, science and business
  • Development of certification program through the Community College of New Mexico (CNM)
  • Renewable energy as key source of energy

A higher quality, fresher organic harvest, at a fraction of the cost and energy usage
